Count every book before you lock the door

The back-office app lottery retailers run to receive stock, scan every scratch-ticket book at End of Day or End Shift, reconcile the drawer, and file the owner’s daily paperwork — on the counter phone or the office desktop.

Built to be trusted

Integer-cent math

Every figure is whole cents, front to back. A float never touches money.

Scoped by store

Row-level security on every table. One store’s numbers never reach another’s.

Scans don’t wait

Scan offline against a cached snapshot; the queue syncs when the signal returns.

We never sell your data

Your records are used only to run and improve the app. See the Privacy Policy.

The shape of a Lottery day

Nothing here is a spreadsheet chore. Each step feeds the next, and the day cannot advance until the one before it is settled.

  1. 01

    Book in the delivery

Scan the packing slip, build a receiving session, photograph the slip. Draft and resume; reopen it later even if a colleague started it.

  2. 02

    Activate by scan

Put a book on the shelf by scanning it onto it — including mid-day, the moment one sells out.

  3. 03

    Scan every book

One End of Day per Lottery day, or End Shift for each shift. The dashboard tracks Scanned, Missing and New until nothing is left unaccounted.

  4. 04

    Reconcile the drawer

The owner reviews the book table, fixes an ending number, enters terminal figures, cash and the bank deposit. Over / short recomputes.

  5. 05

    Read it back

Daily, inventory and multi-store reports, plus the weekly settlement — never a recount — exported to CSV, Excel or PDF.

Everything in the box

Built against a written spec, section by section. The lottery arithmetic lives in one pure library with every worked example as a test.

NEW

Shifts, if you want them

  • A per-store switch: staff tap End Shift instead of one End of Day
  • Each shift is scanned and closed on its own; the day closes itself overnight
  • Cash is counted once for the whole day
  • A shift left half-scanned shows a clear “never finished” notice on Today
  • Off by default — stores that want one close a day change nothing
NEW

Catch up missed days

  • Missed a day? Scan a real End of Day for it, oldest first
  • Or, if the store was shut, carry the days forward as closed with no sales
  • Carry-forward sits behind a quick math check so a stray tap can’t file it
  • Activate and Return are blocked once a day is closed; a reopened day keeps its count
INV

Receiving & inventory

  • Receiving sessions from a scanned packing slip — draft, resume, and reopen a completed one
  • Mandatory packing-slip photo and a completion summary
  • Activate a book by scan at any hour; undo an activation when nothing has sold
  • Return an active book — tickets sold up to the scan count on End of Day
  • Owner removes a non-active book as returned or missing; staff can too
  • An optional switch lets employees return books from Inventory
  • One row per book, with ticket value and book number
  • Store-to-store transfer
GAME

Games & pictures

  • About 70 Massachusetts games seeded for every new store
  • Game pictures in inventory, scans, receiving and book detail
  • Games page with search; add, edit and capture an unknown game mid-receiving
  • Per-game ticket price and book size drive every calculation
  • The platform team imports new games straight from the lottery’s published list
SCAN

Scanner

  • One scanner for camera, Bluetooth wedge, and manual entry
  • Field-first layout that holds focus for wedge guns; the camera is one tap away
  • Torch toggle and a camera focus lock
  • Versioned MA parser: game / book / ticket split
  • An audible chirp and a visual confirm on every scan
EOD

End of Day

  • A running Scanned count that never jumps, and a fast one-trip upload
  • Dashboard splits Scanned, Missing and New books
  • A re-scan of the same book is a non-event; a backward move needs a typed reason
  • Ticket-range validation is a hard block — no override
  • Sold-out flow for both ascending and descending stores
  • Returned books show as their own row
  • Terminal figures in; expected cash out of one formula
CASH

Paperwork & cash

  • Daily paperwork calendar with a per-book table: begin, end, sold, amount
  • Mark a book Sold, or correct a single ending ticket; the day re-totals itself
  • Optional ATM cash flow: Today’s Cash, Bank Deposit, ATM and a rolling Carry Forward
  • Over / short against expected cash
  • Managers can record the bank deposit when the owner allows it
  • Owner-only figures stay in a table a manager cannot read
  • Reopen a filed day behind a deliberate confirmation step
WEEK

Weekly settlement

  • Enter the weekly SR-61 and SR-38 figures
  • Net due is worked out for you and marked as the total
  • A calendar of weeks, laid out like Daily Paperwork
RPT

Reports & exports

  • Daily, inventory and multi-store reports
  • Store-timezone periods; a to-date range never runs past today
  • Filters re-checked server-side
  • CSV, Excel and PDF; money exports as a summable number
  • Owner figures are absent from a manager’s report, not blanked out
TEAM

Team & roles

  • Employee, manager and owner roles at store scope
  • Invite by email link — the person you invited is who gets in
  • Owner can deactivate, reactivate or remove a manager or employee
  • Switch stores in a multi-location business
  • A profile page with password change
MAIL

Emails

  • A daily morning email of yesterday’s received, activated and returned books
  • Email alerts over SMTP with per-category preferences
  • Every email wears the same look as the app
SEC

Security & platform

  • Platform → business → store → users, with RLS on every operational table
  • Role is re-resolved server-side on every mutation, never trusted from the browser
  • Private document buckets reached only through short-lived signed URLs
  • Sign-in activity recorded; passwords and tokens are never logged
  • Owners can download all of a store’s records
PWA

Install & offline

  • Installs to the home screen with its own manifest and an install prompt
  • Offline scanning; the queue syncs on reconnect
  • Phone-first screens with a predictable back button
  • Light, clear screens built for a busy counter
